It seems incorrect to wish someone a “Happy New Year” (perhaps a happy new year’s eve). However, I think it’s unrealistic to be happy for an entire year. We should wish someone a “Healthy New Year”, now that’s realistic and would certainly make anyone happy.
Recently I watched a documentary on CNN about the connection between health and happiness, most of the information was predictable or obvious but they shared a really good segment about laughter, how scientist are discovering why and how it improves health, and how laughter can be used to assist people with healing all types of disease and ailments.
So I surfed over to CNN.com to look for a link to that documentary and instead found another documentary, scheduled for Jan.8, that appears to be along the same lines. Here’s the details:
Happiness and Your Health: The Surprising Connection
Happiness and Your Health: The Surprising Connection airs commercial-free on Monday, January 8, 2007, from approximately 4:00– 5:00 a.m. ET (better set your VCR) on CNN.
CNN.com has lot’s of great content about Health and I often enjoy watching reports by their on-staff expert Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Here’s an excellent article that was part of the documentary I was mentioning – The truth about happiness may surprise you.
