Creating BlueTranquility was a solo project but there were a couple areas here and there where I needed help since I am new to CSS.
- I would like to give credit to the author of the template GLS - GNU/Linux Software for my inspiration to create the navigation menu.
- I also would like to give credit to Haran's template Tierra Verde for my inspiration to properly align the naviation menu without having to use absolute positioning and also for the acronym decoration (Internet Explorer doesn't underline text specified by the acronym property by default).
- A special thanks goes out to Ervin in Atlanta for catching a bug in the temporary span properties in place of the 468x60 ad banner area when setting the browser text to anything larger than the default or medium setting. The fix for this bug has been implemented. Good catch!
I'm sure there are other example web design templates that I looked at which contributed in some way to BlueTranquility, but these are the ones that I remember helping me the most.
If you want to check out published websites that are currently using any of the BlueTranquility series of templates then check out the Community Websites section from the Favorite Sites page on my website using the appropriate Helpful Link on the left (I'm sure I'll be adding more to my Community Websites section in the near future). And if you publish a website based on one of my BlueTranquility templates then email me and I will add a link to your website in the Community Websites section on my own website.
I couldn't of made this template though without the help of some of the other websites I listed in the Helpful Links section. DesignsByMark has some really good tutorials on making better websites in general, in addition to tutorials on making great web graphics with Adobe Photoshop. You know how great OSWD is of course, and W3 Schools is just plain awesome. It's one of the most comprehensive online tutorial sites for everything web design. Webopedia is handy for looking up many technical acronyms such as IT, and the W3C is a pretty good resource for web standards.
